How cool is this? It's my very first 3D print of the initial pawn design. I stuck my phone in the shot for scale...This particular printing process produces a pretty rough surface, as you can see from the image, but it's invaluable as a learning tool. First round of design changes for the pawn... The new base has no legs and will carry through for all the pieces. I'm not entirely sure what I'll use for weight but having a solid base will help streamline things. I've thought about magnets but that would mean more experimentation since I wouldn't want them to be too strong.

I threw together a quick 3D sketch of one of the pawns below. It'll be fun to develop all the pieces together so that they all read as what they are and look right together.
